Who today is teaching lay theology? By this we dont
mean how the laity react to the clergy or assume clerical roles to replace
the clergy when they are not available but the real theology that applies
to their daily lives. The very nature of the laity means that they must
deal with earthly things.
It is the laity who are the foot soldiers of the church.
They have to live out their Christianity in the family, in business, at
play and in fact the whole fabric of their daily lives and their special
vocations in the world. Their vocations are just as important, maybe more
important, than any others. Where is all this discussed. It is not taught
in the schools, the universities or theological colleges. Ask in any of
the later have they a department of lay theology. This is where 95% of
the churches members are !
This book attempts to kick start the laity towards
discussion and then action on the things of the world with which they work
and which they can use as they share with Jesus Christ in the work of his
redemption.
