My family name has its origins in Italy as my Father was born Giovanni (John) Mosele on the 8th of September, 1906 in Roana Italy. The second child born to Antonio and Albina (maiden name being Sartori). As was the case with many families early this century mortality rates were high and the records we have, show that out of eight children born to Albina, five died at very early ages. Albina herself passed away at only twenty eight. Four years later Antonio married Maria Slaviero with three more children resulting from their marriage.

John Mosele
My father came to Australia when only seventeen years of age after experiencing the horror of the first world war, leaving behind his family for what was intended to be a short holiday with his uncle. After a few months he decided that Australia promised a new and exciting life and made what must have been a difficult decision to stay. Some years later after meeting his first wife Edna he fathered five children, Toni, Lui, Nancy, Nola and Judy. In 1959 after the death of Edna he remarried to Ellen Harding and together had another son, David.
Ellen Mosele

Ellen Harding was born to David and Margaret Harding in 1914 and lived most of her her early life on a small property close to the township of Nicholson near Bairnsdale in Victoria Australia. One of three girls, she grew up in an era of great change but was to an extent sheltered from
it whilst living a somewhat secluded lifestyle. During this time she developed a love of poetry and over the years has written a number of poems and verces that have been compiled into bookform, twice locally published. At the age of 45 Ellen gave birth to her only child, David.

Born David John Mosele on the 16/01/1960, I grew up in Bairnsdale and spent my school years at West Primary and the Technical School.
My interest in art related subjects led me to a job with a local department store J.C.Dahlsen's as part of their visual merchandising team. Subsequent changes to store ownership followed including me being employed as a business leader for Myer. Currently still involved in retail, I am now managing Clark Rubber Bairnsdale.
