with reference to the French Huguenot name

Our world wide research into the Family Name WINNETT began in the 1960's. There appears to have developed several "families" with the name Winnett, but with no common connection. We have found early families pre 1800 in Ireland, and several parts of England. Variations of the name (eg.Winnot, Whinnett Winet) were common, even within the same family. Irish and English Winnetts migrated to Australia, Canada, and North America, and we have been in contact with descendents of many of these families.
