Undoubtedly one of Weekend Rockstars highlights was opening the
'Coca-Cola, 3XY Rocktober Concert of the Decade'
to a crowd in access of 30,000.

The band found no trouble in quickly gaining the audiences attention and received great reviews. The day proved to be a major musical event with Skyhooks, Australian Crawl, Richard Clapton, Uncanny X-Men, Kids in the Kitchen, Electric Pandas, No Nonsense and The Radiators also featuring.

Including most of the above, the Rockstars had previously also performed concerts with the Ted Mulry Gang, Russell Morris, Mother Goose, and the Grand Wazoo Band amongst others, proving they could be accepted by a wide and diverse audience.
This was specially pleasing for a band that had initially found it hard to play original music in their own local area, and for a garage band that had started in a wool shed there was finally merit proved in not knowing how to play 'Smoke on the water!

> Where it all began, out the
> back in the wool shed working
> on those incredibly difficult
> stage routines!

> Billy, Geoffy, Nelly and Davey
onstage in front of 30,000
punters and still not playing
Smoke on the water!
