Despite having a wealth of material to draw upon, the band's recording efforts did not reach their true potential having only released in different forms a total of two Singles and an EP.

Their first recording We can't play smoke on the water served to be nearly a 'Double A' single with the records flipside (I want to be on) Countdown also creating much interest. The record got airplay in both Melbourne and Sydney and was voted 'Best Australian Single ' by Juke magazine's Graham Simpson. The record for a period of time also attained the most sales for the EMI Custom Label.

Blast from the past was primarily released by Billy Rockstar with input from studio musicians, and took a somewhat different approach with the song At the party on the 'B' side. Although getting some notice from various radio stations and a film clip shown on National TV, it did not truly capture the essence of the band as the previous single had.

The Rockstars as a live band became an on and off affair with several line up changes due to personal commitments and the swing toward cover bands. Extended Fourplay however, brought together Rockstars new and old and featured the songs, 'I'm not that kind of boy', 'Drinking Beer with the Boys', 'Ocker Rocker', (I wanna be your) Personal Vibrator and 'The Missionary Position Undercover in the Bedroom with the lights out'
